2025 HUSKER SIGNING DAY
A SERIES OF HUSKER FOOTBALL MURALS
Mural design and execution project.
During fall of 2024, I was part of a group of four students hired to complete a series of murals for the Nebraska Football team’s 2025 signees. We completed the project over the course of the semester, with extensive planning and trial and error before completing 24 portraits. We worked with the Creative Media team comprised of students led by Jordan Litten, as they documented the entire process. The 20 signees’ portrait images were featured on the UNL Husker Football social media accounts, alongside process videos created by the team, on December 4th, 2024.
The experience gave me valuable planning and hands-on skills and knowledge required to complete a project of this scale. The pieces were executed through the collaboration of the entire group. Lea Bushey and I were responsible for the planning and creation of the portraits, as well as any details and additional elements, from color schemes to layouts to stencils and any remaining backgrounds and borders. Michelle Reese added in players’ names and numbers in a graffiti style. Micah Fullinfaw was brought in near the end of the project to assist with a few remaining portraits, as well as to add in spray-painted backgrounds on a few.
